[NAVER] TWICE takes measures for personal protection due to foreign fan stalking

It has been confirmed that the members of popular girl group, TWICE, have been under police protection since not long ago.

The reason behind this is due to a foreign fan who uploaded a video of himself engaging in stalking behaviors.

In the video posted by a German man last October, he states, "I came to OO-dong about two weeks ago. I thought I could talk to you [TWICE member] somehow if I came to Korea."

The man tried to find the whereabouts of a certain TWICE member by tracing back through their past visits that were posted to SNS.

He continued, saying, "I went to more than 100 stores in OO-dong. I asked the people there if they saw you come in sometimes."

However, his obsessive behavior didn't end there.

He has even posted on SNS, behaving as if he was the boyfriend of the TWICE member.

Due to growing concerns from fans about the stalking issue, TWICE's agency finally requested assistance from the police. The representative stated, "We have police security around their dorms and the company headquarters. We are also working on increasing security measures for all schedules." The police department also allegedly gave smartwatches to the TWICE members who can then report to the police immediately if in crisis. There are also increased police patrols around the agency and dorms.

TWICE's representative also stated, "We requested personal protection due to a foreign man. We are considering the highest level of legal action possible against him.

Previously in 2017, TWICE also requested police investigation after online threats of acid attacks and death threats.

  1. [+114] Seriously... No matter how much you like someone, there's a limit
  2. [+34] Stop bothering TWICE please. They're nice and hard-working kids, why are you bothering them?
  3. [+20] Don't touch Teudoongies. Stalking deserves a severe punishment or imprisonment. Please, he must be sent there. This is what all fans want. He's not a fan
  4. [+20] I thought he'd know Korean if he's coming to Korea. Is it easily possible to meet and talk with celebrities in your country? You say you're doing all this because you like them but to the other person, it's like someone is loitering around the house and planting a hidden camera on them. Know your limits.
